Have you ever wondered if it's possible to make someone fall in love? Some people have resorted to becoming people pleasers that get them friend-zoned or worse manipulated and taken advantage of by the other just to make that happen. In the end you suffer hoping things may change, they might notice you. It never does, because the same thinking and patterns of approach that created the situation you're in, CANNOT produce a different outcome.
In a 1997 Stony Brook study, psychologist Arthur Aron explored whether intimacy between two perfect strangers could be accelerated by having them ask each other 36 personal questions. The study explored whether intimacy between two strangers can be accelerated by having them ask each other a specific series of personal questions. He tested it out on two of his students with such remarkable success that they both ended up marrying and are still married today.
Dr. Aron has even seen it rekindle the romance in long-term relationships. "When you’re first in a romantic relationship, there’s an intense excitement, but then you grow used to each other, if you do something new and challenging, that reminds you of how exciting it can be with your partner, it makes your relationship better.”
These 36 questions that lead to love take about 45 minutes to complete as you ask each other, with each becoming increasingly personal and intense. Using them for a first date is a great way to make it memorable. Dr. Aron and his wife Elaine, a psychologist who also studies love and relationships, have also used the quiz to bond with couple friends (platonically) over dinner dates. Imagine what they could do for your relationships.
I have personally checked these questions and they are remarkable in terms of creating deep connections subtly until you realise it's too late that you've already opened up without thinking you could have. For added impact, look into each other's eyes whilst asking and answering the questions.
